Mu Chen was teaching Mu Mu how to cook in the kitchen, while Gu Babu was watching Milan Fashion Week. There were several fashion shows recently that she quite liked, and every one of them had a style she enjoyed. She believed that design was about drawing on strengths and compensating for weaknesses; no matter whose style it was, they should all be observed to gain inspiration. Therefore, she usually attended such events, especially the Milan series because they were significant and featured excellent designs.

Senden was assembling a puzzle nearby; Mu Mu had purchased a scenic jigsaw that was nearly a meter long on each side. The brothers would spend their free time putting it together, planning to hang it in the living room once completed. With many colors and complex scenery, it was challenging to assemble, so Senden usually did most of it after they brought it home.

The family enjoyed a happy and cozy life together when someone rang the doorbell; Gu Babu went to open it. It was Old Town Mayor who held a form in his hand. Gu Babu greeted him politely, while Senden jumped up excitedly and rushed over, indicating that he liked this old mayor very much.

The mayor had come to register for the number of people going camping the day after tomorrow. The small town organized an event every month, and this time it was a campout in the mountains for one night. Most residents would participate, so Old Town Mayor came over to inquire about Gu Babu's family.

Mu Mu also came out from the kitchen; such collective activities were usually attended by them as well since camping was an interesting experience and they hadn’t gone camping for a long time. Seeing that the children enjoyed it, Gu Babu signed up too. After paying for four people’s fees, Old Town Mayor had heard that Mu Mu and Senden's father returned, apparently relying on Gu Babu for support. The mayor, however, did not hold any biases toward such matters.

Old Town Mayor then went to the next house; Mu Chen was done cooking ribs by now, but he asked about their business only after they had shared everything regarding the camping trip. When Mu Mu mentioned that she had signed them up without asking him, Mu Chen didn't object.

"Alright, let's do it then," Gu Babu said, "We'll go camping two days from tonight and start packing for Thousand Cloud Island upon our return."

After dinner, the family enjoyed a meal together. Gu Babu went to cut some fruit; she was accompanied by Mu Mu and Mu Chen as they watched the fashion show. Mu Chen looked it up online and said, "There's also a Chanel fashion show in Paris today. Would you like to go see it"

"What time is it"

"At nine o'clock, if you go then it's just right," Mo Chen said. Driving there would take only half an hour each way, very convenient. Gu Babu thought about it but decided against going; for one thing, she wasn't really fond of Chanel's style, and someone had already leaked the designs from their current season, which she found rather uninteresting after taking a glance at them. More importantly, she was worried about leaving two children alone at home.

She usually wouldn't leave both kids at home alone in the evenings for fear of something happening.

The previous housebreak had left her with lingering fears for years to come.

If Gu Babu didn't go, Mo Chen wouldn't force her. He stayed at home and watched instead. At one point during his watch, there was an odd noise from Mu Mu's study; Mu Mu went upstairs to check it out. Mo Chen looked up at the second-floor study but said nothing.

Mu Mu...

Later on, when Sen Sen got tired of watching and went upstairs to play games, he asked Mo Chen to join him. Mo Chen, however, chose to watch with Gu Babu over playing with his son. Sen Sen made a funny face before going into the room.

The living room was now left just to them two. After hours of watching fashion shows in a row, Mo Chen brewed a cup of fruit tea and asked Gu Babu to drink it as she watched. Gu Babu took notes while watching the show. As he looked at her intently taking notes, Mo Chen smiled; she looked very charming when focused.

"You said you studied design for one year but then stopped Why" Gu Babu asked. Mo Chen thought to himself that studying had been in order to find her, and since he hadn't managed to do so, there wasn't really a point to continue. He didn't suffer from masochism either, nor did he like fashion design very much. The basics were easy enough back then, but once he delved deeper into the subject matter, it was painful if one had no interest.

"I lack the talent for this," Mo Chen replied. "You, on the other hand, are so passionate."

"Then what major did you study" Gu Babu asked. Mo Chen couldn't recall him ever mentioning his field of study before; he was puzzled by the question. What had been his original major This was indeed a good question.

Mog Morning pondered for a moment and then frankly confessed, "Baby, actually I've never received a graduation certificate from my childhood to now. I only attended school for one year."

The originally note-taking Gu Babu looked up in surprise upon hearing this, staring at Mog Morning with an expression that seemed both aggrieved and conflicted, "Really, I'm illiterate."

Can't bear it!

Gu Babu's mouth opened and closed a few times, finding it hard to believe what Mog Morning had just said. Then Mog Morning continued, "Baby, would you look down on me because I am illiterate Would you feel disappointed about my lack of education"

"No way," Gu Babu was puzzled; did he say his educational background is lacking He knows everything and has such good manners—how could he possibly have never attended school before That must be a lie, it has to be.

Mog Morning chuckled and said, "Our brothers didn't go to school either. Really, our parents directly taught us what we needed to learn: six years of primary education, six years of middle school, four years of university, and another four years for a master's or doctoral degree. In twenty years of schooling, you can only study one subject, but within ten years, we can cover ten subjects."

They saved time by mainly learning practical skills, such as survival techniques.

The knowledge that any agent or assassin should possess was also included.

Vast knowledge was unavoidable and they had to self-study since no one taught them.

"Then your dad and mom are really amazing," Gu Babu remarked.

Mog Morning replied, "My parents are also illiterate. They've never received a graduation certificate."

Gu Babao, "..."

Mò Chen continued, "Actually, our whole family is illiterate."

Gu Babao, "..."

She felt that discussing this topic with Mò Chen was really unwise. If everyone were like him and considered themselves illiterate, then no one would want to be literate. Seeing Gu Babao's expression, Mò Chen chuckled and said, "Our son will probably also be illiterate in the future."

"Will you teach him yourself"

"Don't you believe me"

"Not necessarily."

"Daddy, Mommy is much better at teaching than I am," Mò Chen said. "All our kids were taught by them. There's also Niannian and Yuanyu, who will go to school together with the others. The children won't be lonely."

"Then they won’t have many friends."

"Our family doesn’t need too many friends," Mò Chen said earnestly. "What we need are close relatives and friends who share our values, and there aren’t many of them. It’s better to be selective than to settle for less."se from him. Soon after, she heard the sound of a phone hitting the ground, and her heart suddenly felt empty as she listened dumbfoundedly to the voice on the other end of the line, which was eerily...
