"Warmth" A familiar sound of surprise rang out, right beside her. Warmth wiped away her tears and looked up to see Dou Di standing in front of her. He was wearing a set of iron-grey西裝, looking handsome and debonair; she had never seen anyone more suited for a suit than him. The dazzling lights across the river made the perfect backdrop, making him even more breathtakingly beautiful. Dou Di...

Why was he here

Hadn't he gone back to America

<

Dou Di silently handed Warmth a tissue, his eyes filled with compassion and tenderness. Seeing her sitting alone crying at this hour had pained him from afar; all he wanted was to hold her close and keep sorrow away from her.

Warmth took the tissue but felt even more humiliated that Dou Di had seen her like this again.

He always appeared when she was in her most vulnerable state...

"Why are you crying" He bent down to her level, snatched the tissue from her hand and wiped away her tears. Warmth felt another wave of bitterness; Dou Di should not be so gentle and deep with his feelings towards her. It wasn't right.

She could never give him what he wanted, so she didn't want to offer him any hope.

"I'm fine," Warmth said coolly as she took the tissue back and wiped away the tears on her own face.

Dou Di's eyes were filled with a smaller version of herself. Warmth couldn't bear to look into his deep gaze; after all, the last time she had rejected Dou Di’s advances, severed their connection, and he had returned to America as a result.

"Did you come back to do business" Warming herself up, she asked cheerfully, suppressing the sorrow of her divorce deep in her heart.

Tu Di got up and sat beside her. He was about to say yes, but what came out was, "No!"

Tu Di paused for a moment and looked towards the dazzling lights across the river. "I used to not like City A at all; I rarely returned here and felt that there wasn't much character to it. I never considered it my hometown either. But lately, I've been coming back more often whenever I have free time. Born and raised in other cities for nearly thirty years, it's only now that I'm starting to fall in love with my hometown."

Because his beloved girl was here.

"People always end up loving their hometowns. Some are born loving it, others grow old before they do, but it's just a matter of time," Warming said.

Tu Di didn't explain further; he simply looked at her with tenderness. This was the place where Warming had taken him for a walk, and he knew how much she loved it. Anywhere she liked, he began to cherish as well.

He still held onto one last hope that he might run into her here... Unbelievably, they really did meet...

Compared to their last meeting, she had lost even more weight and looked much more haggard.

"Tu Di, is what you said the last time still valid" Warming asked. Her voice was broken by the evening wind along the river, only faint echoes reached his ears, full of sorrow...

Did she mean that he should take her away

"Yes!"

Du Di smiled, "Effective, always effective."

No matter when, as long as she speaks up, he would take her away.

Warming looked at him with warmth. Du Di couldn't help but reach out to stroke her face gently and said, "Whether you see me as a temporary shelter or use me to escape, or simply want a temporary haven, I will fulfill whatever you wish."

As long as he was capable, he would give her everything she desired.

Warming's expression softened slightly. "Thank you."

"It's my pleasure; I owe you." Du Di said sincerely, the Du family owed the Long family a debt.

Warming shook her head, "You don't owe me anything, really, nothing at all."

Du Di did not argue with Warming. If she insisted he didn’t owe her anything, then that was fine; he understood the situation well enough in his heart.

"I have already prepared and signed the divorce agreement. Once Nie Mo signs it, we will be officially divorced." Warming said, unable to stop tears from forming at the corners of her eyes. Du Di felt a pang of pain for her; her voice was hoarse and tinged with sorrow as she struggled to speak, "I don't want to get divorced, especially not now. Nie Mo is ill, very seriously. Although Mom said he'll be fine because there are excellent doctors who will perform surgery on him and ensure his survival, I can’t help but wonder if it's due to my presence that Nie Mo has fallen so ill. He originally only had a stomach ailment which could have been treated well; however, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. If the curse has come true and Nie Mo won't live past thirty, then this surgery might be his last chance at life. If I stay by his side, this operation will likely be our final encounter. I'm really scared, I fear even the best doctors can’t overcome the curse, that human power is powerless against fate."

“So you want to divorce before he has surgery” Du Di asked softly.

"Yes!" Warmth spoke firmly, "I did consider divorce before going to Athens and after returning, I no longer wanted a divorce. I just want to take things one step at a time and plan to go home. Unbelievably, he got into trouble instead. Do you think it's because my thoughts on the divorce have changed that Nonmo fell ill"

Di Di said worriedly, "Warmth, don't think this way; there are things beyond your control." He couldn’t bear to see her feel so guilty. Warmth gave a bitter smile and replied, “I know it’s out of my control, but I just can’t help thinking about it.”

Di Di sighed helplessly, "Since you want the divorce, don't overthink it; too much thought won’t be beneficial."

Warmth nodded. She understood his reasoning.

"Do you plan to go to America"

"Yes, whether I work or study there, everything is fine by me." Her career and life plans had already been disrupted because of Ye Nimochen, so she couldn't imagine a life without him.

“If you want to continue this job, once you are in America, I can arrange it for you. You don’t need to worry about that,” Di Di promised. Though he didn’t have many connections in that field, those he did were influential.

If Warmth wanted to develop her career in Hollywood, there would certainly be no problem.

"Right now I’m very confused and don’t have any plans. I hope Nimochen can agree to the divorce soon so we can leave this place early and everyone will feel more at ease," said Warmth softly.

Di Di looked at her, saying gently, "Warmth, it would be very difficult for you if he hates you. Living with his hatred is a heavy burden."

Warmth smiled faintly, “It’s better to have him hate me than not see him at all and have no chance to be hated.” or eight sets, almost twenty sets in total. The two brothers are nearly the same height and build.
