Moxiao Bai rushed to the hospital as soon as he returned to Rome. Ji Bing hadn't regained consciousness, and there had already been three critical condition notifications. Mo Chen sent Fengyun to guard at the hospital, but even Fengyun was startled when Moxiao Bai suddenly appeared. He watched silently as Moxiao Bai dashed towards the intensive care unit entrance; Fengyun couldn’t react in time and hurriedly followed him. In a hurry, he asked how Moxiao Bai had returned from Riyadh without any notice.

Moxiao Bai was most concerned about Ji Bing's condition and immediately inquired with Fengyun. Fengyun explained that Ji Bing had gotten into an accident due to drunk driving but fortunately only suffered minor fractures and no life-threatening injuries, although the other party’s car was damaged. Mo Chen had helped suppress this incident, and the other party didn’t sue Ji Bing either. However, Ji Bing's injury was severe, preventing him from regaining consciousness.

Moxiao Bai was very worried; he sought out Ji Bing's attending physician who gave some uncertain theories that frustrated Moxiao Bai to the point of wanting to punch the doctor. Fortunately, within a few hours, Ye Wei and Baichen arrived in Rome. To Moxiao Bai, it felt like salvation had come—there was no time to think about whether leaving Rome was inappropriate or why Mo Yao seemed unhappy. His sole focus was on Ji Bing, pleading with Baichen to save him.

Baichen thought for a moment and nodded his head in agreement.

With Baichen's involvement, Moxiao Bai felt more at ease. Ye Wei and the others returned to the villa while Moxiao Bai stayed at the hospital waiting for Ji Bing to regain consciousness. Mo Yao didn't stay with him but returned to the villa too.

Shiyi couldn’t help but speak to Mo Chen, "Why did you tell Moxiao Bai without informing Brother"

Mo Chen later felt that his decision was unwise, yet he thought it necessary not to hide Ji Bing’s condition from Moxiao Bai. If Ji Bing passed away and Moxiao Bai found out afterwards, the guilt might haunt him for life. How could he be at peace when spending time with their leader then Mo Chen believed that Moxiao Bai owed a debt to Ji Bing, as his drunkenness caused this accident. Should Ji Bing have died, Moxiao Bai would never find peace in his lifetime. If they couldn’t even see each other one last time, perhaps Moxiao Bai might never overcome the shadow of guilt, which is why he had told him.

Although it's not appropriate to scrutinize one's own behavior, he still feels that this is the best solution.

Three days later, Ji Bing regained consciousness.

Bai Ye was temporarily staying at Mo Yao's place. Upon hearing that Ji Bing had woken up, Xiao Bai immediately went to the hospital to see her. Ji Bing was sleeping when he arrived; she wasn't in critical condition but needed about ten days of recovery. It had been nearly a year since Xiao Bai last saw Ji Bing. She looked much more haggard and thinner than before, with sharp cheekbones that conveyed an indescribable weakness. Without the coldness she exhibited upon regaining consciousness, her appearance was heart-wrenching.

Xiao Bai kissed Ji Bing's hand gently as he held it to his lips. Sensing someone in the room, Ji Bing opened her eyes and saw Mo Xiaobai right away. Her eyes instantly welled up with tears, blurring her vision and causing her to sob uncontrollably.

She shed silent tears, which made him feel an extreme sense of pain.

"Ji Bing, don't cry, I'm back," Xiao Bai said soothingly as he wiped away her tears. Ji Bing turned her gaze away; her body hurt and she frowned in distress. Panicking, Xiao Bai called the doctor to do some tests before leaving. It seemed that Ji Bing didn't want to see him; Xiao Bai thought she was upset with him and started flattering her, even saying endearing words.

Ji Bing was someone very easy to please if you were sincere about it. Knowing her temperament well, Xiao Bai could read her like a book. He recounted the period of detoxification and training, deliberately highlighting the most painful moments to make Ji Bing feel distressed.

"Are you okay" Even though she didn't understand why Xiao Bai broke up with her, she still asked about his injuries; he appeared to have recovered. Not wanting Ji Bing to worry, he said everything was fine. Recognizing that Ji Bing had softened, he gently kissed her forehead and told her how much he missed her...

Ji Bing's tears fell, "You're lying."

Ji Bing said with委屈 (grievance), "You said you missed me, but that was a lie. You also said you wanted to break up with me."

This was what Ji Bing couldn't bear the most, and yet Xiaobai had forgotten about it again. Unable to help herself, she widened her eyes, "When did I ever say I wanted to break up with you I never said anything like that!"

He felt extremely wronged, but Ji Bing didn’t want to deal with him.

She thought he was putting on an act.

The way he had spoken sounded so sincere. He hadn't called her for months. The way he spoke was so cold-hearted that she couldn’t even bring herself to ask if it was true, wanting to maintain a little bit of self-respect.

Yet, reality proved that he was truly heartless.

"You got drunk because I mentioned breaking up" Xiaobai asked. Ji Bing turned her face away in embarrassment. Xiaobai said, "Heaven and earth can be my witness, I really didn't say it. I swear, if I did say those words, then punish me… Punish me by disfiguring me."

Ji Bing couldn't help himself and, despite being heartbroken, he still managed to smile. Scarring someone was a significant punishment for Mo Baixue, perhaps the most severe one he could think of. The scars on his body had just been eliminated with great difficulty. For an appearance-obsessed perfectionist like him, looks were especially important.

Seeing her smile, a wave of tenderness washed over him, and he tightly held Ji Bing's hand, saying, "Ji Bing, I don't know why you would think that way, but I want to tell you—I never said anything about breaking up. Don't worry too much; I swear it's true."

Ji Bing was so addicted to his warmth that she asked with a heart full of sorrow, "You really didn't say anything"

Baixue nodded seriously. Ji Bing tried to convince himself that he indeed never said anything about breaking up, and her months of sadness were now meaningless. She wished the reality was as Baixue described it—him not having mentioned a breakup. However, she remembered his voice clearly; though heavy-sounding, she knew it belonged to him. With bitterness in her heart, she thought perhaps Baixue had misinterpreted things, assuming she wanted to take her own life because of their misunderstanding. Maybe out of pity for her, he decided not to break up with her.

Ji Bing wasn't a woman who settled for less; she always wanted the whole of Mo Baixue and refused to accept anything short of that. She had once heard Baixue say he liked someone else, and she was curious to know who it could be.

But when Baixue didn't tell her, her curiosity grew.

Ji Bing's eyes were filled with tears, yet facing Baixue, no matter how great the委屈was, she swallowed it. She couldn't afford any risk of losing him; she couldn't imagine how to live without him.

Meng Baixue could not bear to see her sad, saying, "Don't cry, okay"even more convinced of this idea.Given Warming’s twisted mindset, such thoughts seemed quite normal. Furrowing his brow, he wondered why he was the only one gaining weight when they ate the same food...
